Singapore Airlines A380 dining is a special event which the superjumbo A380 is converted into a Restaurant A380 @Changi. The member of the public can dine aboard Singapore Airlines Airbus A380. The tickets of the event were sold out in 30 minutes.
What special about Singapore Airlines A380 Dining?
Singapore Airlines is trying to create a memorable dining experience on their A380 double-decker superjumbo for the public member or travel lover. At the same time, this will also bring some profits and publicity to the company.
Besides that, many airlines company are phasing out the Airbus A380 due to the lack of efficiency and high costs for this type of aircraft. We not sure whether we still have the chance to take A380 in the future.
Since the pandemic Covid-19 affect the whole airlines industry badly. There is no travel tourist for almost more than 6 months. Many pilots and cabin crews are under pay cut or job loss. This is another way to show some support to the airlines and wish them.
Singapore Airlines A380 Dining worth?
Everyone has different valuation on a certain thing. The tickets are sold at a different price according to the cabin class. Just spend within your own budget. I had never flown with Airbus A380 before, so this definitely is a try for me.

Besides that, there is a pre-dining restaurant tour which is an exclusive tour where you will get to explore the newly renowned Singapore Airlines A380. Furthermore, we get a rare behind-the-scenes look at private access areas including the cockpit.
Someone might think that they will never flight in business class or suites in their lifetime due to the high prices of the air ticket. This will be a great chance for them to try out the business and suites cabin for 3-hour dining. Other than that, the participant will receive limited edition souvenirs from Singapore Airlines.
What to expect on Singapore Airlines A380 Dining?
1. gate-hold room activities
The actual A380 dining starts at 12pm and has about 3 hours of duration to enjoy the meals. However, the overall process gives you an experience like going to travel. Early check-in and have some fun activities in the boarding area. An invitation card (aka boarding pass) is collected on the counter as normal flight. The invitation card act as a pass for you access to the event area.
Along with the ways, there is a lot of Singapore Airlines volunteer showing holding the lollipop event signboard to guide you to the gate.
a. Welcome gift counter
Welcome gift counter is just beside the gate after the X-ray immigration check. An extra special gift is given if you are wearing traditional heritage wear. A free tattoo is given as you show the invitation to the staff. They will chop on behind of the card after redeeming the gifts.
b. Digital Caricaturist booth
The first thing you should do is the Digital Caricaturist booth. A free caricature is given. Drawing caricature is time-consuming and first come first serve basis. Just be patient and wait for your turn. I did not manage to get this because my cabin tour time is near upon I want to join the queue. However, the tour is delayed for 30 minutes. After finishing the tour, the waiting time is 1 hour which not possible for my turn.
c. Batik Rose booth
After that, the batik rose booth also have a limited slot for the batik rose making workshop. You can learn how to make a batik rose with the guidance from Singapore Airlines crew. Besides that, you may also choose a completed batik rose without go through the workshop.
d. Photo booth
There is also a photo booth having two beautiful Singapore Airlines stewardess for you to take a photo with them. I wonder whether they are really smiling behind their masks? Wouldn’t it be nicer if their masks are transparent? Well they have nothing to lose anyway in terms of beauty. Remember to give your best shot with them.
e. The Spirit of Style
About every 30 minutes starting from 10am, the emcee will make an announcement about the show. The Singapore Airlines flight attendant with a different type of uniforms will start walking out the stage showing the changes of Singapore Airlines uniforms along the year.
f. Free and easy
While waiting at the boarding area, just move around and enjoy the environments. Taking an aircraft photo around the waiting area. At the same time, there is a lot of stewardesses around. Just don’t forget to take some photo for memory.
2. Cabin tour
The confirmation email will state your cabin tour timeslot. Just make sure come early and there are a lot of activities while waiting for the cabin tour. The invitation card right-hand corner which the name of the country is the secret code for the staff to identify your turn to visit the Singapore Airlines A380 aircraft.
This my first-time step into A380 aircraft. This superjumbo has double-decker. Walking in the jet bridge, you can feel some steep because we are visiting the upper deck which are suites class and business class.
a . Suites Class
The Suites class is so amazing, there are only 6 suites in one A380 plane. The suites class have an enclosed room and there are a seat and a bed. The first 2 suites room of each side can be transformed into a room with a double bed.
b. Business Class
Business class is just next to the Suites room. The business class are in 1-2-1 seat configuration. All the seat can be transformed into a flat-bed seat too.
c. Economy Class
After visiting the business class, we walking down with a staircase at the end of the A380 plane to the economy class. Singapore Airlines economy class where I always travel with, not much special to me. I miss here and hope we can travel soon.
d. Premium Economy Class
Walking from the end of the A380 toward the front where the premium economy is located. Premium economy does not have much compared to the economy and business class. The premium economy is a leather seat and bigger legroom.
Last but not least, the most exciting part of the tour is where the cockpit area. The ticket is not sold in any Singapore Airlines website. We have the chance to enter the most advance aircraft in the world A380. In the cockpit, there are 2 crew bunks where the pilot sleep or nap. We are not allow to take photo inside.
Singapore Airlines A380 Dining Meals?
Different cabin class have a different selection of the meal. The cabin class that within my budget are premium economy class. We had chosen the Peranakan menu which is specially designed for Restaurant A380 @Changi by acclaimed Singaporean chef Shermay Lee.
The dining comes with two complimentary alcoholic drinks and a free flow of other beverages. You can enjoy the meal while watching the movie on the IFE of the seat.
Before the event end, we are given a souvenir tote bag. The bag includes: amenities kit, 3 different in size of cloth travel bag, 3 different in size of a pouch for amenities, poker card and a pen.
With all the staff and crew involve plus the cabin tour, food and souvenir, I would say this is a wonderful experience.
